【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverspolymerprecoatedcorrugatedsteelpipeintendedforuseforstormwaterdrainage,underdrains,theconstructionofculverts,andsimilaruses.Pipecoveredbythisspecificationisnotnormallyusedfortheconveyanceofsanitaryorindustrialwastes.Thesteelsheetusedinfabricationofthepipehasapolymerprotectivecoatingoverametalliccoatingofzinc,55%aluminum-zincalloy,orzinc-5%aluminum-mischmetalalloy.1.2Thepolymerprecoatingprovidesextraprotectionofthebasemetalagainstcorrosionorabrasion,orboth,inadditiontothatprovidedbythemetalliccoating.Somesevereenvironmentsmaycausecorrosionproblemstoaccessoryitemssuchasrivetsorcouplingbandhardwarethatdoesnothaveapolymercoating.AdditionalprotectionforpolymerprecoatedcorrugatedsteelpipecanbeprovidedbyuseofcoatingsappliedafterfabricationofthepipeasdescribedinSpecificationA849.1.3Thisspecificationdoesnotincluderequirementsforbedding,backfill,ortherelationshipbetweenearthcoverloadandsheetthicknessofthepipe.Experiencehasshownthatthesuccessfulperformanceofthisproductdependsupontheproperselectionofsheetthickness,typeofbeddingandbackfill,controlledmanufactureintheplant,andcareintheinstallation.TheinstallationprocedureisdescribedinPracticeA798.1.4Thisspecificationisapplicabletoordersineitherinch-poundunitsasA762,orinSIunitsasA762M.Inch-poundunitsandSIunitsarenotnecessarilyequivalent.SIunitsareshowninbracketsinthetextforclarity,buttheyaretheapplicablevalueswhenthematerialisorderedtoA762M.
