【摘要】:Thispracticeprovidesacontrolledcorrosiveenvironmentthathasbeenutilizedtoproducerelativecorrosioninformation.Theprimaryapplicationofthedatafromthispracticeistoevaluatemetallicmaterialsforuseinsoilenvironments.Thispracticemaynotduplicateallfieldconditionsandvariablessuchasstraycurrents,microbiologicallyinfluencedcorrosion,non-homogeneousconditions,andlongcellcorrosion.Thereproducibilityofresultsinthepracticeishighlydependentonthetypeofspecimentestedandtheevaluationcriteriaselectedaswellasthecontroloftheoperatingvariables.Inanytestingprogram,sufficientreplicatesshouldbeincludedtoestablishthevariabilityoftheresults.Structuresandcomponentsmaybemadeofseveraldifferentmetals;therefore,thepracticemaybeusedtoevaluategalvaniccorrosioneffectsinsoils(seeGuideG71).Structuresandcomponentsmaybecoatedwithsacrificialornoblemetalcoatings,whichmaybescratchedorotherwiserendereddiscontinuous(forexample,nocoatingontheedgesofmetalstripscutfromawidesheet).Thistestisusefultoevaluatetheeffectofdefectivemetalliccoatings.Structuresandcomponentsmaybecoatedorjacketedwithorganicmaterials(forexample,paintsandplastics),andthesecoatingsandjacketsmayberendereddiscontinuous.Thetestisusefultoevaluatetheeffectofdefectiveorincompletelycoveringcoatingsandjackets.Thecorrosivityofsoilsstronglydependsonsolublesaltcontent(relatedparametersaresoilresistivity,seeTestMethodG57,andchemistry),acidityoralkalinity(measuredbysoilpH,seeTestMethodG51),andoxygencontent(loose,forexample,sand,orcompact,forexample,clay,soilsareextremeexamples).Themanufacturer,supplier,oruser,orcombinationthereof,shouldestablishthenatureoftheexpectedsoilenvironment(s)andselectthetestenvironment(s)accordingly.Multipletypesofsoilcanbeusedtodeterminetheeffectofthisvariable.1.1Thispracticecoversproceduresforconductinglaboratorycorrosiontestsinsoilstoevaluatethecorrosiveattackonengineeringmaterials.1.2Thispracticecoversspecimenselectionandpreparation,testenvironments,andevaluationoftestresults.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
